University is beginning
This is a life update of sorts.
Sooo… guess it worked out in the end. It is now 30th of July, which means I have *officially* been a student for a few days. Managed to squeeze out the needed exam scores (even more than I expected! :D), and the rest is history. Seriously, I’d rather forget how much time I spent updating applicant lists in fear somebody would come along and knock me down from my spot…
Overall the spirits are high, despite constant reports I
signed up for one of the hardest departments of one of
hardest universities in the country. Began slowly trying
to get things in order for 1st of September, because I am
swimming into uncharted waters and would hate to balance an
exam and something “big” happening on a Minecraft server I’m a
faction leader on (not that I wouldn’t disregard the less
important exa gaming). My goal is
that by the time studying starts, I am (reasonably) safe from
    any FOMO-adjacent
    crises.
Despite me loving summer, actually super duper excited to
dive into higher education in a field I sort of specialise in -
CS! During doors open day I heard we’ll be studying C and Lisp
    (Scheme) early on, and
stuff like practically dead technology (sorry) sounds
interesting! One potential pain point is math, because my
department (allegedly) takes the Science part in CS seriously
and is biased towards math end of it rather than programming.
But I’ll get through, at least we won’t have physics
    o7.
