About this site

This is my personal website. Here I write about whatever crosses my mind. It has existed in some form since 2022, when I bought my first server. Always wanted my own place on the internet, and this is as customisable and independent as it gets.

• It’s powered by Hugo since early 2024.
• I maintain the site theme myself, and live with the consequences.
• HTML Tidy is used to clean up the site generator’s output.
• The web server runs Caddy due to its ease of use.
• There is no tracking.

The site may look a bit plain, but I prefer it that way. The web is infuriatingly bloated these days, I don’t want to contribute to that. Makes it compatible with phones and accessible too!

The guiding principles for site’s design are as follows:

• It should look somewhat okay even with CSS turned off.
• No page should exceed 1mb in size (except for ones with lots of attachments).
• JS may only be used for small, non-critical and preferably fun things.
